Narrative Description of Project  The project aims to increase understanding in the Australia community of contemporary Indonesia and its growing importance to Australia by improving public understanding of how chocolate is made, and the significant cocoa farming has had on the livelihoods and development of communities in Sulawesi, build high-impct networks to strengthen relationship and leverage opportunities between governments, business, education, and communities by delivering high impact research that benefits both Indonesia and Australia, and address shared national challenges through highly collaborative research programs that creates and share information, knowledge, and skills by comparing the constraints to sustainability and profitability facing the cocoa industries in Australia and Indonesia as a basis for investigating the potential for “industrialization” of cocoa production in Indonesia.
